North Shore Premier Player Program
|
|
NSPPP is the top level of Boys soccer for the North Shore Soccer District. A level above Gold Club play, NSPPP is the peak competition for Boys in Divisions U13-U18. NSPPP is for players with superior talent and desire that want to push their skills even further. Players come together from their Club programs to represent the North Shore District.
Our teams compete in the British Columbia Youth Select Soccer League (BCYSSL) with teams from the other Lower Mainland soccer Districts. The soccer Districts involved are: Alouette, Burnaby, Delta, Fraser Valley, Lower Island, North Shore, Richmond, Surrey Metro, Upper Island, Vancouver, and Westminster.
There are Div 1 and Div 2 Divisions at U14, U16, and U18 Age Divisions. Teams vie for League title in each of the six Divisions and all teams are eligible for the Provincial A-Cup competition in their Age Division. If the League chooses there may be a separate League Cup competition for Div 2 teams in their Age Division that elect not to participate in Provincial A-Cup. Dependent on a sufficient number of teams electing to do so, this Div 2 Cup may or may not run each year.

We would like to thank all the players for making this such a successful tryout. We had over 200 boys trying out for six teams and the majority of players attending were at least Gold level. When selecting teams we know we must disappoint many skilled players that feel they are worthy of selection.
It should be noted that at U14 there were 73 Gold players and 3 returning Metro Players. The others were Silver and or Bronze players of which none made selection. So in selecting 34 players for the Squad we had to reject 42 Gold players. Most of these Gold players have never missed selection within their Club programs and we do understand their disappointment. All players should be encouraged to continue development of their soccer skills and return for tryouts next year.
Good luck in soccer this year and we hope to see you at tryouts next year.
Congratulations to all the boys that have been selected to represent North Shore Youth Soccer for the 2009 / 2010 season!
